WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE APPLYING

RMS, Inc. is currently offering professional positions, both full and part-time, providing needed supports and training for adults with developmental disabilities in a variety of community settings. These community settings vary from group homes offering 24 hour supervision to apartments/condos offering minimal supervision. Needed supports vary from providing constant hands on care to providing only minor supports for those living in their own apartments.

A position with RMS, Inc. provides considerable room for advancement for the right individual within our growing agency of more than 400 employees working at over40programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 18 Years of Age or Older
  • Valid Connecticut Driver’s License, good driving record and available means of transportation.
  • Ability to lift and transfer up to at least 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.

NOTE

When filling out the EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION section on page one of the RMS Application keep in mind the following:

  • Full-time positions may require working at least one weekend day and can be on either second or third shift.

SALARY

  • Starting base rate for Direct Support Professionals $17.25/hour.
  • Starting base rate for Assistant Managers $20.50/hour.
  • Starting base rate for Managers $26.00/hour.

$1/hr. differential for all weekend hrs. (D.S.P. & Asst. Managers).

BENEFITS FOR FULL TIME POSITIONS (40 hours/week)

MANDATORY TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

If hired, you will be required to attend a full 3-day orientation before beginning to train/work in any program.  This will ensure that you have the basic information and knowledge to successfully integrate into our workforce.  In all, you will be expected to complete approximately 50 hours of paid classroom training within the first 6 months of employment. These trainings are usually held during the week 9-5 or evenings 5-9 with occasional classes being offered on Saturdays. The Initial Med. Certification Program minimally involves 30 hours of training.
